Our History
In 1987, Russ and Sharon Culver bought the library division of John White’s Book Shop. John had been operating a bookstore in Oakville, Ontario, and a number of libraries requested that he provide a list of forthcoming “bestsellers”. He provided some local libraries with deliveries of these bestsellers and established a loyal following. This was the beginning of the “Whitehots” list.
Today, Whitehots is one of Canada’s largest public library suppliers. We are pleased to continue to serve several of the original client libraries today, including Toronto, Mississauga, Hamilton, Brampton, Oakville and Burlington. For over 20 years, we have built an impeccable reputation with over 100 Canadian public libraries for quality, selection, value and unsurpassed customer service.
Whitehots is conveniently located in Aurora, Ontario, on the northern edge of the Greater Toronto Area and adjacent to Ontario's dynamic and thriving “Golden Horseshoe”. This excellent location is easily accessible for many large library systems and all major publishers.
